“Forgiveness takes one person, reconciliation takes two.” -Mark Driscoll

This is a great sermon and in it, he tackles the issue of forgiving others of their sins against you. If you have time, listen to it. The gospel says that God forgives us, so now we can forgive others. It’s freeing and amazing to forgive others. It doesn’t mean that you will be reconciled to them. It means you forgave them. Praise the Lord that I can forgive others because I have been forgiven.

Parents, this also has a great part about teaching your children how to apologize and forgive others. I especially like the part about 1) praying at the end and 2) naming the sin.
